The technology is so innovative that it allows you to sit closer to a 4K TV than any other resolution. TVs are designed for different viewing distances for a couple of reasons. One is to ensure that the viewers do not develop eye-strain – this happens when you sit too close to the TV and your eyes start to hurt from watching. Another reason is for image clarity – if you are sitting too close, the image may be too pixilated and if you are too far away, you may miss the details in the picture.
Optimal Viewing for TVs by Size
So what size of TV do I need? Our clients frequently ask questions in regards to the size of their TV. Some tend to think that they want the largest screen possible for their space where some are more interested in a 50″ or larger screen. When we take a look at the room, we can quickly access the size based on the room size. While a 70” TV might be great, it may end up being too large for a smaller room. Based on the chart, if you are in a smaller room, then we would suggest a TV that has a higher resolution due to the shorter viewing distance. Most of the time our viewers are positioned about 9” from the TV so a 70”-75” 4K TV would be fine for the space as long as the room allowed for it.
